'Ecology'. It has been a buzz word for some years now. Usually, when you see an 'ecologic' project, it goes along with advanced and often expensive techniques. This project is quite the contrary. This architect couple wanted to renovate a small belgian house in an ecological way, but with a very limited budget. So they started looking for alternatives. Bottom-line is that they made use of recuperated materials in its raw form. Everything from the wood, to the tiles, windows and furniture is re-used. Even the isolation of the walls is done with used clothes. Outside, the wild garden is conceived with old bricks and concrete panels in between. Their water is filtered in the garden. Only one tap in the house is connected to the drinking water system.
