Basic idea for this poolhouse was to give the owners a constant feeling of vacation. Being very preoccupied with their job, there is not much time left for a foreign holiday. So this poolhouse and pool had to give a contstant feel of vacation on nice summer days. So the architect met with the three initial demands: It had to be in concrete, it had to give space to the Porsche passion of the owner and once by the pool, the family had to have the impression to be in more a more exotic place than suburban Kortrijk, Belgium. This resulted in the design of two connected, concrete pavillions for a garage and a kitchen and living space in a fully open structure. Everything is finished in concrete, wood, mirrored dark glass and even corten steel. The main pavillion is giving out on the terrace and pool outside. This is the central point of the construction: the pool, the outside bbq and the long concrete bench give opportunity to relax until late in the evening in a mediterranean atmosphere whitout being away from home.
