Architects office Dehullu&Partners was commissioned to build a new entrance building between the two existing buildings of the Town Hall. In this typical Belgian situation, with two heavy used roads trough the city centre, the architects chose to create a landmark. It is a building that steps out of the row and thus draws the attention to the visitor and citizens. It functions as an architectural sculpture. In using Corian panels as a facade cladding material the architects achieved a full white outdoor facade. Thus accentuating the monolith character of the building. In Belgium it is the first application of Corian outdoor, and one of the first worldwide. The main function of the building is to welcome citizens to the city administration and as tourist information centre.
