In the midst of the historic centre of Antwerp this old medieval house got a modern, yet soft renovation. It lies in the middle of the museum and shopping district of the city. For the owners it is a pied-a-terre whenever they want to spend the weekend. The house is a part of the very old, historic 'Huis Draecke' -Dragon house. An old merchant's house. The compact interior gives place to a nicely converted home where original elements have been well blended with new aspects. Vintage design furniture is combined with found objects: an old tortoise shield, two original forks found during renovation, design objects of 'Sort of Coal, Hella Jongerius, gilt insects and jewelry boxes, old lamp shades recovered in leather by a friend-artisan. Also the owners have a history in 3D printing so a lot of lamps are printed in their own design. Contemporary renovation meets real historic value.
